How to Add Calendars to the Laser Digital Calendar

This guide explains how to connect Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Live and Apple iCloud calendars to the Laser 15.6 Inch Digital Calendar with Touch Screen, model AO-156TDC-544.

Before you begin

Make sure that:

• Your Laser Digital Calendar has completed its initial setup.
• The calendar is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
• The Whale Framely app is installed on your compatible Android phone or iPhone.
• Your phone is connected to the internet.
• You are signed in to a registered Whale Framely account.

Visitor accounts cannot use calendar syncing. If you are using a visitor account, create or sign in to a registered account before continuing.

How to open the calendar syncing settings

1. Open the Whale Framely app on your phone.
2. Tap User.
3. Tap Sync Calendar.
4. Select the calendar provider you want to connect.

How to add Google Calendar

1. Open User > Sync Calendar in the Whale Framely app.
2. Select Google Calendar.
3. Sign in using the Google account connected to your calendar.
4. Follow the displayed instructions to authorise access.
5. Select the Google calendars you want to sync.
6. Choose the required sync direction.
7. Tap Done.

How to add Outlook, Hotmail or Live Calendar

1. Open User > Sync Calendar in the Whale Framely app.
2. Select Outlook, Hotmail or Live.
3. Sign in using the relevant Microsoft account.
4. Follow the displayed instructions to grant the required permission.
5. Select the calendars you want to sync.
6. Choose the required sync direction.
7. Tap Done.

How to add an iCloud calendar

Apple requires an app-specific password when connecting an iCloud calendar to the Whale Framely app.

1. Make sure two-factor authentication is enabled for your Apple ID.
2. Create an app-specific password through your Apple account.
3. Open User > Sync Calendar in the Whale Framely app.
4. Select iCloud.
5. Enter your Apple ID and the app-specific password.
6. Select the iCloud calendars you want to sync.
7. Complete the remaining instructions displayed in the app.

Understanding sync direction

Google Calendar and Outlook, Hotmail or Live accounts support selectable one-way or two-way syncing.

• One-way syncing: Calendar information is transferred in the selected direction only.
• Two-way syncing: Supported changes can be synchronised between the connected calendar service and Whale Framely.

Check the sync direction carefully before completing the connection so that events are managed in the intended calendar.

If calendar events are not appearing

• Confirm that your phone and digital calendar are connected to the internet.
• Open the Whale Framely app and check that the correct calendar account is connected.
• Check that the required calendars were selected during setup.
• Check the selected sync direction.
• Make sure the event is saved in the connected calendar.
• Pull down on the calendar view to refresh it.
• Allow time for the connected calendar service to synchronise.

If calendar authorisation has expired

If the connected calendar stops updating, its authorisation may need to be renewed:

1. Open User > Sync Calendar in the Whale Framely app.
2. Remove the affected calendar connection.
3. Select the calendar provider again.
4. Sign in and complete the authorisation process.
5. Select the calendars and required sync direction again.
