Follow these steps to update your CarPlay dongle:
What You Need
- CarPlay dongle
- 5V USB-A power source (laptop, PC, wall charger, or power bank)
- Smartphone with web browser, Wi-Fi, and mobile data
Steps to Update
Check for Updates
- Ensure your iOS or Android system and Android Auto app are up to date.
Prepare the Dongle
- Unplug the dongle from your vehicle’s USB port.
- Connect it to a powered 5V USB-A port (laptop, PC, wall charger, or power bank).
Connect to the Dongle’s Wi-Fi
- Open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.
- Select the dongle’s Wi-Fi network: NAVC-WDCP**
- Enter the password: 12345678
Access the Update Page
- Open a web browser on your phone.
- Type 192.168.1.101 in the address bar and tap Go.
- Note the current firmware version displayed at the top of the page.
Download the Latest Firmware
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Select the latest version from the dropdown list.
- Tap the green "Upgrade" button to start the download.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete.
Install the Update
- Once the download is complete, tap the green "Upgrade" button again.
- The update process will start and may take 5–10 minutes.
- At 50% progress, the dongle will restart, and your phone will disconnect from Wi-Fi.
Complete the Update
- Refresh the web browser page after the dongle restarts.
- Once the update is finished, the system information page will reload with the new firmware version.
Your dongle is now updated and ready to use!
