Why is my power bank advertised as 100W if it is only 73Wh?

The 100W refers to the maximum charging output of the power bank - in other words, how much power it can deliver to a compatible device at one time.

The 73Wh refers to the battery capacity - that is, how much total energy the power bank stores.

These are two different measurements:

  • W (watts) = charging power or speed
  • Wh (watt-hours) = battery capacity

So a power bank can have a 100W output and a 73Wh battery capacity at the same time. This is normal and not a mismatch.
