Troubleshooting Guide for Sound Issues on the NAVC-BHUD-982
No Sound from Built-in Speakers:
- Ensure the volume is turned up on both the CarPlay screen and the connected device (phone, car stereo, etc.). The default volume level on the CarPlay screen is 20. Adjust the volume by tapping the speaker icon on the top menu bar on the CarPlay home screen.
- Check if the mute function is disabled on both the CarPlay screen and the connected device.
- Test the speakers by playing an MP3 stored on a USB flash drive.
- If the problem persists, restart the portable screen.
No Sound through AUX Connection to Car Stereo:
- Confirm the AUX cable is securely connected to both the portable screen and the car stereo.
- Verify that the car stereo is set to the correct input source.
- Test the AUX cable with another device to ensure it's functional.
- If issues persist, try an alternate AUX cable.
No Sound through FM Transmitter Connection to Car Stereo:
- Check that the FM frequency on both the portable screen and the car stereo are the same.
- Ensure there is no interference from other devices on the chosen FM frequency.
- Experiment with different FM frequencies to find a clear channel.
- If the issue persists, try restarting both the portable screen and the car stereo.
Low Sound Quality through FM Transmitter:
- Select a less congested FM frequency for better signal quality.
- Check for any physical obstructions that may affect signal strength.
- If the problem continues, consider using the AUX connection for better audio quality.
Reset to Factory Settings: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to reset the CarPlay screen to its factory settings. This will erase all data and settings:
- Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the connected device.
- On the CarPlay screen, go to Setup > Vehicle: Basic Setup > Restore Factory.
